Justin Thomas is still searching for the consistency on the greens in 2021 that will bring him the victories that his excellent tee to green game deserves.
Earlier this summer, JT made a flatstick change, swapping out his Scotty Cameron X5.5 Tour Prototype for a Scotty custom knuckle neck Phantom X5 at the Scottish Open.
However, just a month on from that event, Thomas has a new Scotty Cameron putter in town at this week’s event from Liberty National, and while the putter is similar in style to his previous one, it features a different neck, face stamping and 5g weights in the sole.
A source at Scotty Cameron indicates it’s unlikely Thomas will put the putter in play this week, but we’ll keep an eye out to see what’s in his bag Thursday.
Heres’s what our members have been saying on the putter:
- bladehunter: “That’s pretty sweet!”
- Mr. Grumpy: “One of his best, but looks like CAMBRON in the cavity.”
- jjrussell: “The smooth face plus the plate to fill in the hollow cavity probably make this putter feel extremely firm compared to his other one, which I am guessing is he was looking for.”
