In our forums, our members have been discussing the club they prefer to use from 200 yards. WRXer ‘MtlJayMan’ kicks off the thread, saying:
“Looking to see what the WXers are playing when they’re faced with a 200 yards approach the green shot?… for a combo of trajectory and spin to hold the green… Edit to add; specifically what OEM club (or other) and loft to cover that distance?
Useless reference that triggered the question, 105ish Driver CHS (at 10.5*) -> 250 carry, 3 wood goes 235 and 3h (Sim2; 19.5*) gets 220… then 5i (old G10s; 27*) is the 185 to go club… so there’s a lovely uncomfortable gap that needs to be filled when playing ‘longer’ courses…”
