Today’s Forum Thread of the Day comes from J13 who poses an interesting question to our members – Brooks or Rory? Our members discuss both men’s careers to date, their strengths and weaknesses, as well as who they feel will claim the most major victories when it’s all said and done.
Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- Davidelliot100: “Rory has been really solid overall but hasn’t been closing. Brooks seems to be stepping up in big moments. Recency bias will say Brooks, but Rory’s run 2011-2014 was similarly impressive to Brooks’ last two years. I think time will say Rory, but right now in a major you take Brooks.”
- drewtaylor21: “As things currently stand right now, this minute, I’d say Brooks. The eye test tells me he’s stronger mentally and a better putter. I think Rory is the better overall ball-striker, but for the last couple of years it seems like he’s been searching for a mental strategy that works for him, and consequently, he’s been a bit lost out there when it comes to getting it done. It will be interesting to see how BK handles the dark periods that inevitably come in this game.”
- Nixhe524: “Brooks. Right now I don’t think it should be up for debate… long term? Hard to say, but if I had to bet now, Koepka looks like he could build a better resume if he keeps playing like he is in majors.”
- MMB1500: “Brooks now and in the future. McIlroy will never win another major. Koepka will likely win a boatload. Forget physical skills; just look at their mental games. Koepka is probably the toughest player since Woods in terms of mental strength. McIlroy could barely be more fragile in that department, especially when the pressure’s on.”
- straightshot7: “Brooks by a nose because of his mental approach and attitude. Rory will finish with more regular Tour wins, but Brooks will finish with more Majors.”
