In our forums, our members have been discussing OEM wedges and putting forward suggestions outside of the highly acclaimed Vokey, Cleveland and Callaway models. WRXers have been sharing their thoughts on what they feel are the most underrated brands in this category, with Mizuno and Ping wedges receiving plenty of praise.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • cgasucks: “Wilson Staff wedges are very underrated and don’t get a lot of love. That is too bad since they practically invented the Sand Wedge (via Gene Sarazen) and ruled that category long ago.”
  • RedWings1: “Mizuno and Honma, Both super soft metal, excellent grooves and sole grinds.”
  • CDLgolf: “Have to agree with the Ping wedges. The glide 2.0 are really good wedges. I have both the hydro pearl and stealth finish, and both are good.”
  • Largey: “Vote for ping glide 2. Surprised with them since I’ve always played vokey. Have a used Miura k grind on order that looks promising.”
  • greenwavegolfer: “Mizuno. For a company that gets so much love for its irons it’s pretty weird they don’t get that much love for their forged wedges too. They’re the only major OEM that offers a forged wedge standard and really the only one still offering odd-numbered lofts. They don’t have the biggest arsenal of bounces and grinds like Vokey or Callaway, but they make a great feeling wedge that complements their irons well.”
  • kess13: “I’ve been impressed by Mizuno offerings.”
