Debate: How are “Tour Only” Scotty Cameron putters different than retail?
Referring to Tour Only/Circle T Scotty Camerons, user e36er asks: “Are those $2K-$5K putter really different than the ones under $400?”
Responses range from span the range from “Yes/You can’t put price on the perfect, confidence-inspiring putter” to “Heck no!” Also discussed: fine art and the relative merits of a Timex vs. a Rolex and much decrying the fact that the topic has been bandied about ad nauseum in the forums over the years.

The inevitable demise of the golf polo?
User prsgtrman began this thread with an anecdote about a quick post-work nine holes in which he wore a “nice-looking shirt made of synthetics.” During his round, he came to the conclusion that a nice-looking non-polo shirt should be equally as acceptable on a golf course as a collared shirt.
This prompted DRRicks to respond: “If you’d like to “dress down,” play frisbee golf.”
And wldchld22 offered a history lesson in the grand tradition of the polo shirt: “Rene Lacoste introduced it in the 1900’s after visiting India and ever since then it has been in a staple in the modern man’s wardrobe for a reason.”
Of course, prsgtrman does have supporters in the thread, which is also notable for its detailed history of khaki pants.

Perspectives on assistant Ryder Cup captain Woods
As with all things Tiger-related, 2016 U.S. Ryder Cup captain Davis Love III’s announcement that Tiger Woods (along with Jim Furyk and Steve Stricker) will serve as an assistant captain at Hazeltine has generated some forum discussion.
Formula02 started a thread related to the topic with the question, “Does this mean he [Woods] doesn’t think he will be back playing next year or at least not with enough time to show form to take the team as a pick?”
Another user added that Woods has indicated he’d still like to make the team. And after that, the takes came fast and furious. And the polar perspectives were laid out: On the one hand, this decision somehow hands the Cup to the Europeans. On the other, as J13 stated, “Who in the game knows more about winning and the mentality it takes to do so then Tiger Woods?”
