In our forums, our members have been discussing combinations to find the perfect high launching 3-wood. WRXer ‘Nick_E’ is on the hunt for a combo that offers low spin in addition to excellent launch capabilities, and our members have been sharing their suggestions in our forum.
Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- Veners: “I had the same problem until I got the TaylorMade M4 15 degree with the stock shaft in stiff flex. So easy to launch off the deck, worth trying second hand as you can always sell it on for the same price if you don’t like it.”
- ode: “This is not an apples to apples as it was in my Tour Edge CBX 5w, but the Mitsu KK Silver dual-core tini 70 in S flex launched high, and trajectory has high. I swapped shafts to an NVS 85 which brought the ball flight down quite a bit. The KK was not loose feeling, but I was not comfortable with the flight. I should have stuck with it as I hit some amazing shots with it, but it was so different than what I was used to, as I am a low ball hitter.”
- scooterhd2: “TSi2 with Oban gold.”
- pricenicky: “Get a 15 degree 3 wood adjustable – move it to 16 and get a stiff tip medium mid section shaft about 75 grams. Recommend Epic SZ with GD DI 75 STIFF.”
