In our forums, our members have been discussing clubs to fill the 4-iron spot. WRXer ‘mholmstrm’ reaches out to fellow members, saying:
“My ‘3 Hybrid’ is a 19 Degree Titleist 910 and my 5i is 26 degrees, so I need something similar to a 4i with more forgiveness in the 23-degree range. What do you like? I prefer Cobra or Titleist at the top end of the bag.”
And our members have been sharing their suggestions in our forum.
Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- Metro-PA: “I did something similar a while back. Put in a Mizuno CLK 4 hybrid… 22*. Tried several others but couldn’t beat the feel/consistency of the Mizuno. They sort of fly under the radar, but worth testing.”
- nearfall152: “Not for everyone, and not one of your stated preferences; however, I suggest trying an Epic forged 4 iron. It works well for me for tight tee shots for the distances you are referencing.”
- ChipNRun: “Consider the Ben Hogan Edge 4i: 22*, hollow-head forged construction, with KBS, DG and Recoil models as stock shafts. Edge falls in GI class.”
- SmashGolfBall: “Titleist 4 hybrid with 24 degrees of loft.”
- jomatty: “I’d get one of the new Srixon utility irons. Or if you want to stay TaylorMade get a 770 4i. Cobra doesn’t have anything that jumps out at me to fill that slot, but Titleist u510 would do a good job.”
