3-woods that go high without hooking? – GolfWRXers discuss

In our forums, our members have been discussing 3-woods that go high without hooking. WRXer ‘BurghLefty’ kicks off the thread, saying:

“I’m trying to find an off-the turf 3-wood with fade bias, but then it seems those that have one have deep faces that are hard to hit off the turf and a forward weight that launches it low (basically, a great 3 wood for the tee in my hands).

Does anyone know of a 3-wood with a shallow face that can launch the ball high off the turf to hold a green without having a draw bias?”

And our members have been sharing their suggestions in our forum.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • brutusflash: “I found a 2023 Wilson Dynapower on the bat for a Lillie over $100 and it’s been outstanding- best 3-wood I’ve hit in sometime and does not want to go left on its own- and easy to launch. I took out the back weight and added lead tape up front to knock down some spin and it’s perfect.”
  • MountainMan: “You could look at the new Cobra fairways. A lot of adjustability in those to take the draw out.”
  • phizzy30: “I have a Qi10 tour that doesn’t go hard left on me, ever.  You can always slide the weight over to the high spin setting though which is nice.  It’s definitely not hard to hit off the deck either.  The regular Qi10 is a good one as well that’s shallower, easy to hit of the deck and isn’t a hook machine.”
