Wedges that do ‘most of the work’– GolfWRXers discuss

In our forums, our members have been discussing wedges that do “most of the work”. WRXer ‘Vater’ kicks off the thread saying:

“Whether you’re a minimalist who carries only one or two wedges – or you carry four wedges, but play one of them 70% of the time – which wedge is it?

Make, model, loft, bounce, and grind?

I’m down to a Vokey SM8 48.10F and a Vokey SM9 56.08M and I think I’m good.”

And our members have been sharing their favorites in our forum.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • HappyGilmore22: “Vokey 54 degree D grind. Could get away using that club with nearly any shot under 120 yards.”
  • ShortGolfer: “I’ve been learning to hit every shot with a Callaway MD5 52/10S gap wedge.  Though I’d rather use an old Big Bertha sand wedge if there are a lot of rocks in the bunker.”
  • JMB3: “SM10 54d is my workhorse. I am currently contemplating snagging a 48f to replace my set GW for chipping.”
