In our forums, our members have been assessing Titleist hybrids. WRXer ‘igolfchip’ asks fellow members for their thoughts on three models in particular – the 816H1, 818H1 and TS2 – asking which one offers the best performance. Our members have been having their say and have extended the discussion to Titleist hybrids on the whole.
Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- KevCannon: “TS series seems to have a hotter face, all else being equal. I hit both TS2 & TS3 with AD IZ 85x hybrid shaft, and ball speed average was a fraction higher, and perfect strikes I noticed between 1-2 mph faster ball speeds. Carry distance went up a few yards, but if you have a well fitted 818, upgrading may not be worth it to some people.”
- Whit1969: “I have the 915 and have hit both the 816 and 818. I actually prefer the 915, probably because I am used to it and have a comfort level with it. I have the 18 degree opened up to C2 to prevent the dreaded hybrid hook and to fill the void of a 5 wood. The 816 and 818 are so similar it would only be a choice of the darker 818 as the deciding factor for me. Did not care at all for the gray head on the 816.”
- serveitup911: “I can speak more to the H2s / TS3, but I have loved all of them since the 816 series. I currently game TS3s in 21 and 20 and have a 23 coming. Great feel and sound, plus it’s nice and hot.”
- JDW3: “I’ve owned both the 816 H1 and 818 H1 but haven’t hit the TS series hybrids. I find the 818 to be easier to control both distance-wise and shot shape. I don’t plan on replacing the 818s any time soon.”
- TIM929: “Loved the 816, but the TS3 was better looking at address. It has a compact square look to them which I really like. Distance with control my TS3 performs better, but my current shaft is a better fit for me as well. Head to head TS3 wins.”
